Thanks for letter to read— In the death of Capt Price the Army has lost one of its best Officers he was a true friend an honest man. and a brave Soldier. I regret his death very much— I hope you will have a Jolly time abroad—

Note: No information on Mr. Wheeler. 'Captain Price' may possibly refer to Captain George F. Price, 5th Cavalry, who was an acquaintance of Cody.
