Brian Keating O'Dwyer was a government scout, wagon master, teamster, and Dodge City, Kansas, saloon keeper in the 1870s. John S. Bell was director of the U. S. Secret Service from 1888-1890. Yours to hand. and I have to day seen Mr John. S. Bell. Chief U. S. Secret Service. A particular friend of mine. and he will attend to you at once— the first of July you will receive your commission. of $93.00 per month and three dollars a day for expenses— he will send you to some western state if he does take Nebraska where I can see you occasionaly— I am glad that you wrote me and that I can be of service to you
