<notesStmt><note>Letter is dated 1895: BBWW performed in Newark, New Jersey, on September 25-26, 1895. George Canfield, an old friend of Cody's from Omaha, was the former owner of the Canfield House in Omaha. Cody incorporated the W. F. Cody Hotel Co. in 1894 and purchased the inventory of the Sheridan Inn in Sheridan, Wyoming, making him one third owner with Canfield who managed both the Inn and the W. F. Cody Transportation Company. Cody had many ideas of developing the springs located on the western edge of Cody, Wyoming. The "Springs" became known as DeMaris Springs. Charles DeMaris (1827-1914) filed for and received water rights at the site, and built tourist facilities there.</note></notesStmt>
