Dear Tait.

Yours of may 4th came yesterday. The show is over in Jersey City.

Ill go over in the morning early as I now I make parades in my spider. We done well here. But this as you know is an expensive City.

Now Tait do all you can for Mr Smith the Expert for so much depends on a favorable report from him.

I hope he will trace the Scheelite from Morning Star to Maudina. I want him to examine the low grade gold place Black struck near the end on the Star. And infact everything. Knoblauch is no good.

If Smiths report is favorable you and a whole lot   of men will be put on salaries. And lively times at the mines.

So do your level best.

Of course Smith wont say what he thinks. But will make his report to the men who sent him. But your natural instinct. And being a good deal with him of nights you can form some idea if he likes the proposition.

And let me know

Yours in haste

Gov
