George Canfield, an old friend of Cody's from Omaha, Nebraska, was the former owner of the Canfield House in Omaha. Cody incorporated the W. F. Cody Hotel Co. in 1894 and purchased the inventory of the Sheridan Inn (Wyoming), making him one-third owner with Canfield who managed both the Inn and the W. F. Cody Transportation Company. "Mac Tagues Omaha" probably refers to James Hugh McTague (1858-1926) who was the owner of a catering service in Omaha, Nebraska, as well as opening the first basement saloon with partner Charles Little under the name of Little & McTague. McTague later opened a European-style hotel in Omaha before relocating to Missouri around 1900.Cody, William Frederick, 1846-1917Letter from William F. Cody to George T.
