Isaac Cody Deed To Winchester Sherman.
This indenture made the 31st day of January, A. D. 1854, between Isaac Cody of Scott County Iowa, & Mary B. Cody his wife, of the first part and Winchester Sherman of said County, of the second part, Witnesseth, That the said parties of the first part for the consideration of Five Hundred Dollars, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do by these presents grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, the following described tract of real Estate, lying and being situated in the county of Scott and state of Iowa, To wit, the southwest quarter of section Four(4) in Township Eighty, North of Range Four, East of the 5th P.M.
To Have and To Hold said premises above described, unto the said party of the second part his heirs & assigns forever. And the said Isaac Cody & Mary B. Cody will forever warrant and defend the title against all persons whomsoever.
In Testimony Whereof. The said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands & seals the date first above written,

Be it Remembered That on the 8th day of March A. D. 1854, before the undersigned Justice of the Peace in & for said County, personally appeared Isaac Cody & Mary B. Cody to me personally known to be the identical persons whose names are affixed to the foregoing Deeds as grantors and acknowledged the instrument to be their voluntary act and deed.
