Dear George
Yours recd. Well every man in the Co. have throwed up there tail but good old staying Salsbury. I cant hear a word from Alger— only when he wires for money. I have beged him to let me know who the Co. owe so I could give them my personal note. No one will let me know what the pay roll will be up to Nov 3d. I think Alger is playing me a dirty stinking trick— When I am the only Man he has to depend on for money. You see I dont know who he has paid & how much the Co owe. He wont even acknowlige receipt of money I sent him. I tell you bankruptcy stares us in the face— Salsbury says

he wont carry the Buffalo parties [2] , But I am glad you had nerve enough to keep the force at work— Now if you want them paid you must let me know how much it will be up to Nov 3 d — and how near you will be to finishing to Town [3] by that time. Will you do this? You can give me some idea of the amount of money it will take—

And Alger can go to hell— If you will let me know— If some one wont tell me. I will not try to rain the money. thats all there is about it—
