Mr. T. E. Calvert,

G. S., Lincoln.

Dear Sir:

The following is my estimate of cost of line Toluca to Cody:

Grading, $820,153.00
Bridging, 203,830.00
Superstructure, 741,590.00
Ballasting, 212,250.00
Fence, 46,200.00
Telegraph, 26,300.00
Right-of-way, 10,000.00
Building, 67,950.00
Total, 131.5 miles, $2,128,273.00
Cost per mile, $16,200.00

I have used the unit prices we are doing the work for now on sections opened, and have put a reasonable unit price on the balance.

I have used $25.00 per ton for steel and 51¢ per tie. This makes cost per mile 66# steel $5,000. 56# $4,500.

The $250.000.00 now appropriated will grade;

It may go further if we do not encounter too much classified material.

The distance Toluca to Cody - - - - - - - 131.5 miles.

Yours truly,

(Sgd.) I. S. P. Weeks.
