Note 1: On September 21, 1895, Buffalo Bill's Wild West performed in Newburgh, New York. The year is not inscribed by Cody but subsequent correspondence confirms 1895. Cody wrote to Beck on September 23, 1895 (CSS00451), inscribed from nearby Paterson, New Jersey, and referring to Cody having just met Salsbury and Bleistein. [back]
