This indenture, made the 8th day of March A. D. 1852 between Isaac Cody & Mary Cody his wide of the first part and Adrian H Davenport, R. H. Rogers and James Jack of LeClaire Iowa of the second part, Witnesseth: That the said part of the first part for the consideration of Two thousand Dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do by these presents grant, bargainm sell, and convey unto the said party of the second part the heirs and assigns forever, the following described tract of real estate, lying and being situated in the County of Scott and State of Iowa, to-wit:- the North West quarter of the South East quarter Section twenty eight in Township Seventy nine North, of Range five East of the fifth principal Meridian also the North East quarter of the South East quarter of Section twenty eight in township Seventy nine North of range five East of the fifth Principal Meridian each containing forty acres and a certain parcel of land commencing at a post in the creek at the North West corner of the South East quarter of Section No twenty seven and thense South Eastern chains and eighty one links thence East twenty chains thenc north seventeen chains and eighty one links thence west twenty chains to the place of beginning continuing thirty five acres and sixty two one hundredths of an acre situated in the above mentioned township and range

To have and to hold said premises above described, unto the said partys of the second part their heirs and assigns forever. And the said Isaac Cody and Mary Cody his wide will forever warrant and defend the title against all persons whomsoever. In Testimony Whereof, The said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hand and Seal the date first above written.

Be it Remembered, That on the 9th day of March A.D. 1852 before the undersigned P Wm. Gish a Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared, Isaac Cody & Mary Cody his wife to me personally known to be the identical persons whose names are affixed to the foregoing Deed as grantors and acknowledged the instrument to be their voluntary act and deed.
