One of Buffalo Bills Indian's Dies in Bellevue Hospital.

Otakte, or "Kills His Pony," the Sioux Indian, died in Bellevue Hospital this morning. [1]

"Kills His Pony" was a Dacotah, and had been with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in Europe. Saturday he arrived in this port on the steamship Salle very ill with consumption. [2]

Note 1: Otakte, or Kills His Pony, died the night of June 17-18, 1890. [back]

Note 2: The cause of Otakte's death may have been a combination of tuberculosis and blood poisoning following a fall from his horse while performing with Buffalo Bill's Wild West in Germany. [back]
